Reggio Emilia International Study Group 2016
In our lecture today we learnt from the pedagogista that recent legislation in Italy decreed that all school children needed to present their permesso di soggiorno or residency permit. Reggio teachers joined teachers across Italy in conscientiously objecting to this decree. A similar situation in England, with someone different taking responsibility for the rights of children to receive an education. The pedagogista also told us a statistic that we were quite overwhelmed by: the municipal preschool at the Loris Malaguzzi International Centre has children of 35 different nationalities, more than many international schools.
